FAQs
Do you have a cancellation policy?
Yes, missed appointments and cancellations at less than 24-hour notice will be charged at the full rate.
When can I have reflexology?
You can have reflexology at any time, whether you are feeling out of sorts or when you just want to relax.
Can you diagnose?
Diagnosis can only be provided by your GP or health professional. Reflexologists cannot prescribe or alter medication. Reflexology is a complementary treatment that can be used alongside conventional medicine and other therapies to enhance overall well-being. It is not a diagnostic tool.
Can everyone enjoy reflexology?
While reflexology is generally suitable for most people, those with certain conditions, such as DVT, should avoid it. In some cases, your doctor’s consent may be required before beginning treatment. Please do get in touch if you’re unsure.
Does reflexology cure?
Reflexology cannot claim to cure; however, it is widely recognised as a valuable tool for personal health and is used by millions around the world. It can be used alongside conventional healthcare to support well-being.
Can I have reflexology during pregnancy?
Yes, reflexology is safe throughout pregnancy and offers many benefits. However, I typically work with clients who are 13 weeks pregnant or more. While there are very few contraindications, I recommend avoiding
treatments if you have been diagnosed with:
- Placenta previa
- DVT
- Pre-eclampsia
- Polyhydramnios
- Oligohydramnios
- Placenta abruption
In some cases, I may ask you to consult with your midwife or doctor before receiving treatment. Please feel free to call if you’re unsure.

Does it hurt?
Everyone’s experience is different. Some people may feel sensitivity in their feet, while others do not. Sensitive areas may indicate congestion and areas in need of attention. Most describe this type of sensitivity as a ‘good pain’. I always adjust the pressure to suit your comfort level.
Can reflexology cause side effects?
After a session, most people experience a sense of relaxation and invigoration. However, some may experience mild tiredness, headaches, nausea, or tearfulness. These symptoms are temporary and part of the body’s natural healing process, indicating that your body is working to restore balance.
Frequently Asked Questions - additional information
How often should I have a reflexology treatment?
If you have a specific issue that you need support with, for instance, difficulty sleeping, digestive issues, pain or you are trying to conceive. I would recommend a course of 5 treatments initially on a weekly or two weekly basis. To maintain the results I would then recommend regular or monthly treatments. One-off reflexology treatments can be beneficial for 'me time' and relaxation or as a gift for a loved one. Your first treatment will included a consultation and I can guide you on how many treatments I feel will be beneficial to you.
